Frequently Asked Questions

GENERAL SKIN & TREATMENT QUESTIONS

How do I know which facial is right for me?
Every facial at Elumi Skin begins with a full consultation and skin analysis. I’ll assess your skin’s needs and tailor the treatment accordingly. If you’re unsure, simply choose any facial — I’ll customise it on the day.

Do I need a consultation before booking?
A consultation is included with every treatment. However, if you’d like a more in-depth skin plan without booking a facial, I offer standalone consultations — in-clinic or virtual.

What does a chemical peel feel like?
Most clients experience mild tingling or warmth during the application. It’s usually very manageable and only lasts a few minutes. You may notice some light flaking or redness afterward, depending on the depth of the peel.

How long is the downtime after a facial or peel?
Many treatments have little to no downtime. You might experience mild redness or sensitivity. After advanced treatments (like glycolic peels), you may have light flaking or tightness for a few days. I’ll always provide full aftercare advice.

How often should I have a facial?
For maintenance, I recommend a treatment every 4–6 weeks. If you're treating specific concerns like acne, pigmentation, or texture, more frequent sessions may be beneficial — I’ll guide you based on your skin goals.

Can I wear makeup after my treatment?
It’s best to avoid makeup for 24 hours to allow your skin to breathe and heal. If you need to wear something, I recommend a light, non-comedogenic mineral makeup.

SKIN CONDITIONS & CONCERNS

Can you treat Keratosis Pilaris (KP)?
Yes — I offer targeted treatments that help smooth and improve the appearance of KP, especially on the arms and back. These include enzyme exfoliation and gentle peels to reduce roughness and redness.

Is it safe to have a facial if I have acne, rosacea, or eczema?
Absolutely. All treatments are tailored to your skin type and sensitivity. I use medical-grade products that are both effective and gentle on compromised skin. I’ll never carry out a treatment that isn’t right for you.

Do you treat men’s skin?
Yes — my treatments are suitable for all genders. I offer facials tailored to common men’s skin concerns like clogged pores, shaving irritation, and sensitivity.

BOOKING & PACKAGES

Do you offer courses of treatments?
Yes — courses are available for most facials and peels. For best results, a course of 3–6 is usually recommended. I’ll go over this during your consultation, and discounted course pricing is listed on the treatment menu.

Can I buy gift vouchers?
Yes — gift vouchers are available for any treatment or amount and make a thoughtful, personal gift. Just get in touch and I’ll organise one for you.

Do you offer add-ons like neck or hand treatments?
Yes — some facials already include the neck, décolleté, or hands (like the Ultimate Facial). You can also request these as add-ons to most other treatments.
